Our Story: Wesley Outdoors

Between the Mountains and the Metropolis: A Heart Set Free

I am Wesley, the founder of Wesley Outdoors.

My story begins in 1980, in a small village nestled at the foot of a mountain. My childhood wasn't filled with fancy toys; instead, the towering peaks behind our house and the river flowing past our door were my entire world. Back then, happiness was simple: stacking stones by the riverbed or daydreaming under the shade of a tree. I didn't know the word "Outdoors" then, because I was simply living in nature.

1999 was a turning point. At the age of 19, I left the village and moved into the city—a world constructed of steel and concrete. For the next decade, like so many others, I hustled. Amidst the crowded subways and towering office buildings, I gradually forgot the scent of the earth. The city gave me opportunities, but it also left a void I couldn't quite name.

In 2008, I decided to fill that void. That was the year I bought my first piece of professional gear and started Hiking. In the beginning, I was obsessed with "conquest"—climbing higher peaks, walking longer trails, and testing my physical limits. I thought this rugged struggle was what the outdoors was all about.

But as the years passed, especially when I tried to share the beauty of nature with my family and friends, I realized something important. The "survivalist" style of hiking isn't for everyone.

I remember a specific camping trip: watching a friend shift uncomfortably on a damp rock, and seeing the exhaustion of hauling heavy gear dampening the joy of the trip. It hit me: We don't need to "conquer" nature; we need to "integrate" with it.

We didn't need lighter, more expensive alpine jackets. What we actually needed was a Folding Table steady enough for a hot cup of coffee, a Camping Wagon capable of carrying a family's happiness, and a Swing Lounge Chair that offered the comfort of a childhood cradle.

And so, Wesley Outdoors was born.

We don't build gear for summiting Everest; we build gear for connection and comfort. We apply the industrial design standards I learned in the city to the laid-back mindset of that 1980s village life.

From a solitary hike in 2008 to a gathering of friends today, my mission has evolved. Wesley Outdoors is here to help you escape the noise of the city, without leaving the comfort of home behind.
